Bacterial fermentation purification plant comprising a series of tanks within each of which spaces are provided in series communicating together and connected by pipes in which the liquid is taken close to the outlet and is delivered, possibly enriched with oxygen and other gases, to the aforesaid spaces in order to maintain the movement of liquid constant, increase the growth and activity of the specific bacterial flora most appropriate to the type and concentration of the specific polluting agents present in each tank and finally for reducing the quantity of sludge so that there remains a low concentration of the organic material metabolised by the micro-organisms suspended in the liquid.
