PURPOSE:To reduce the complicatedness of work needed for setting the shift-in data by carrying out a shift-in action based on the timing produced by a central processing unit and also starting the subsequent processes when said shift-in action is through. CONSTITUTION:When a shift-in instruction is decoded during the operation of a central processing unit CPU1, a flip-flop 13 is set. Therefore the CPU1 saves the contents of a program counter and stops its operation. While a shift-in control part 21 of a shift-in processing part 2 detects the set state of the flip-flop 13 and starts the control for a shift-in operation. When a setting action is through with the shift-in data, the part 21 resets the flip-flop 13 and releases the stop mode of the CPU1. Thus the CPU1 restores the contents of the program counter and starts the subsequent processes with use of the set shift-in data. |
