PURPOSE:To obtain the excellent color image for a short period by processing a photographic sensitive material contg. a specific compd. according to a prescribed operation, substantially without using benzyl alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The titled method lies in developing the silver halide color photographic sensitive material which forms a photographic layer contg. the compd. shown by the formula on a substrate, with a color developer which does not substantially contain benzyl alcohol for <=2.5min, after exposing it. In the formula, R2 is 6-36C a hydrophobic group, L3 is ethylene oxide or propylene oxide group, (n) is 5-30. The surface active agent shown by the formula can be jointly used with a so-called anionic surface active agent and/or nonionic surface active agent. Thus, the load about a pollution is reduced, and the preparation of the developer is simplified by using substantially no benzyl alcohol. The lowering of the optical density of an image due to restricting a cyan coloring matter to leuco base is reduced. |
