<p>7-Substd. benzofurans with 1,4-dihydro pyridinic structure of formula (I), for pharmaceutical use as hypotensive agents, are made by (a) reacting one equiv. of 7-benzofuran carbaldehyde with an amt. of the corresp. aceto-acetate, using catalytic amts. of piperidine and glacial acetic acid, in aromatic solvent under reflux; (b) reacting with an equimolar amt. of the relevant beta-amino crotonate in non-alcoholic solvent under reflux for 10-30 hours to give (I).</p> |
