PURPOSE:To input an operation mode without providing any special reading unit for a member to be read by providing a reading means which reads a code marked on the member to be read through the exposure of an exposing means and a decoding means. CONSTITUTION:When a mounted card 1 is irradiated by the exposing means 2, its reflected light is photodetected by a mark reader sensor 3 and marked code information is decoded by a decoder 4 to input the operation mode to a control part 5. The control part 5 sends a driving signal to a driving circuit so as to increase the speed of a DC motor driving an exposure unit when, for example, reduction copy mode is specified. Commands like this are outputted to respective parts as many as required for the operation mode and when preparations are made, a main scan is started to perform image formation corresponding to the desired operation mode marked on the card 1. |
