PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a disappearance accident of storage information of a disk, an operation stop accident extending over many hours, and a damage related to life and money, by detecting a reproducing error by the second gate signal which is narrower than the first gate signal for discriminating a reproduced data clock pulse train, into a data pulse train and a clock pulse train. CONSTITUTION:In case a head 6, a disk 3, and other parts have started to operate abnormally, a phase of data clock pulse trains (x), (y) of an output (g) of a one-shot multivibrator circuit 13 is varied. Accordingly, the data clock pulse trains (x), (y) are discriminated by mistake as a data pulse train (y) and a clock pulse train (x) by outputs (o), (p) of AND circuits 20, 21, by outputs (m), (m) of delaying circuits 18, 19, and an output (q) of a reproducing error detecting circuit 22 is outputted. When the output (q) of the reproducing error detecting circuit 22 is sent to an electronic computer, the electronic computer outputs a command to a magnetic disk device, and before the head 6 falls to the disk 3, or before the parts go wrong by other cause, information is reproduced from the disk 3 and the information is stored in other storage device. In such a way, the generation of various damages can be prevented.
