PURPOSE:To stop an optical part accurately at its home position by calculating a necessary time for braking on the basis of the return start position and return speed of the optical part and controlling the optical part. CONSTITUTION:A DC motor 57 is driven forward at a constant speed to move forth the optical part 2' at a specific speed and output pulses of a pulse encoder 51 are calculated at the stop position to detect the position of the optical part 2'. Then, the necessary time for braking is calculated on the basis of the position and return speed of the optical part 2'. This necessary time for braking is varied to stop the optical part 2' accurately at its home position.
