PURPOSE:To provide the title resin compsn. which has excellent flame retardance, kneadability during preparation, etc., and hardly smokes, by blending a thermoplastic synthetic resin with a lowly smoking flame retarder composed of Sb$2O3 having a zinc borate-coated surface and a halogen-contg. flame retarder. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. thermoplastic synthetic resin (A) (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate or poybutylene terphthalate) is mixed with 5-20pts.wt. lowly smoking flame retarder (B) composed of zinc borate and antimony trioxide in a weight ratio of 3:1-1:3, wherein the surface of antimony trioxide is coated with zinc borate, and 5$40pts.wt. ahlogen-contg. flame retarder (C) (e.g., perchlorocyclo-pentadecane or tetrabromobisphenol A) to the desired lowly smoking flame-retardant compsn. The resin compsn. is suitable for use in the production of electric and electronic components, automobile parts, etc.
