<p>PURPOSE:To thoroughly prevent the deformation of a cylindrical body with good working efficiency by heating and cooling the cylindrical body while a packing material such as sand is held packed into the internal space thereof. CONSTITUTION:The strain of the cylindrical body 1 is corrected and thereafter the cylindrical body is positioned vertically and supporting shaft 2 is inserted to the center thereof in the case of heating and hardening the outside surface of the cylindrical body 1 by means such as high-frequency heating or flame heating. The outside and inside peripheral edges of a bottom plate 3 are welded and fixed respectively to the cylindrical body 1 and the shaft 2. The packing material 4 consisting of sand, metal, powder or granular or castable refractories, etc., is packed therein from an upper aperture; thereafter, a top plate 5 is put thereon and is welded and fixed in the same manner as for the plate 3. Vent holes 6 are respectively penetrated to the plates 3, 5. The cylindrical body 1 is thereafter supported horizontally and the outside surface of the cylindrical body 1 is heated and quickly cooled. The cylindrical body 1 after the hardening is substantially without deformation according to the above-mentioned method.</p> |
