PURPOSE:To provide the titled long life traveler superior in toughness and resistances for wear and heat and having little quantities of snapped and napped yearns under high production and high speed spinning conditions, by forming of alloy steel contg. prescribed ratios of C, Si, Mn and one kind or more among Al, Cr, Mo respectively. CONSTITUTION:The metallic traveler is formed of alloy steel contg. one kind or more among 0.5-3.0% Al, 1.0-3.0% Cr, 0.1-0.5% Mo respectively in addition to 0.2-0.6% C, <=0.6% Si, 0.6% Mn. The metallic traveler is superior in resistances for wear and heat compared with conventional product and capable of remarkably decreasing generation frequency of traveler seizing and aiming long life. Since the metallographic structure is uniform, breakage, etc., are not caused at fitting to ring of traveler or at high speed revolution while sliding with ring, and toughness can be remarkably improved. |
