PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform scavenging stream by installing a cylinder jacket having a spiral gap onto the outer periphery of a scavenging port of the cylinder of a 2-cycle engine and introducing the scavenging stream in spiral form into the scavenging port. CONSTITUTION:A scavenging port 7 installed onto the whole periphery of the underside of a 2-cycle engine is formed so that the scavenging stream flows in a cylinder in the tangential direction to the cylinder. On the outer periphery of the scavenging port 7, a spiral-shaped scavenging passage is formed in a cylinder jacket 6. The scavenging stream is introduced into the spiral passage, and flows into the cylinder uniformly from the whole of the scavenging port 7.
