PURPOSE:To provide the titled long life traveler superior in toughness and resistances for wear and heat and having little quantities of snapped and napped yearns under high production and high speed spinning conditions, by composing of respectively specified contents of C, Si, Mn, Cr and the balance Fe with impurity. CONSTITUTION:The titled traveler of the invention is formed of alloy steel composed of 0.6-1.1% C, <=0.6% Si, <=1.0% Mn, 9.0-14.0% Cr and the balance Fe with impurity. Since the metallic traveler has metallographic structure dispersing uniform fine carbides in alloy steel having the component compsn., it is superior in resistances for wear and heat compared with conventional product and capable of reducing generation frequency of traveler sizing and contrive long life. Since the metallographic structure is uniform, causes of breakages at fitting to ring of traveler or at high speed revolution while sliding with ring the little and toughness can also be remarkably improved. |
