PURPOSE:To provide a peeling apparatus capable of peeling even a relatively soft peel of e.g. citrus fruit, etc., by furnishing a clamping and rotating mechanism to clamp and rotate a fruit vegetable and a cutter apparatus to move a cup-shaped rotary edge along the surface skin of the fruit vegetable. CONSTITUTION:A peeling apparatus is provided with a clamping and rotating mechanism 1 for clamping both ends of a fruit vegetable A and rotating the vegetable. The mechanism is constructed of e.g. a pair of clamping members 11, 12 oppositely arranged on a machine frame 10 and attached to opposite ends of a pair of rotary shafts 13, 14 supported on the machine frame 10 along the same axial line in a manner rotatable around and movable along the axis. The peeling apparatus is provided with a cutter apparatus 6 having a cup-shaped rotary edge 61. The rotary edge 61 is brought into contact with the surface of a fruit vegetable directing the edge toward the tangential direction and transferred along the surface skin of the fruit vegetable.
