PURPOSE:To detect a speed even when one cycle of an AC input signal proportional to the displacing speed of an interlocking body is not elapsed by generating the AC signal of frequency proportional to the displacing speed of the body and detecting the displacing speed by using the signal. CONSTITUTION:The signal FB of frequency proportional to the displacing speed of the motion of the body is generated by a displacement detector and inputted to an input terminal I1, and a signal FBpi/2 which has the same frequency with the signal FB, but is pi/2 out of phase is inputted to an input terminal I2. The FB signal is delayed by a time (d) through a delay circuit to obtain a reference signal REF. Further, (a) is a signal generated by extracting a signal (b) (='1' when the signal FBpi/2 is positive or ='0' when negative) generated in a phase difference detecting circuit 1 and delaying it by the time (d) through a delay circuit 3. Then, the signal FB, signal FBpi/2, signal REF, and signal (a) are inputted to a detector 1 to detect the phase difference between signals FB and REF, and an output voltage V0 corresponding to the phase difference is proportional to the frequency of the signal FB, i.e. displacing speed of the body, so that the displacing speed can be detected.
