In a hand firearm, the firing spring 25 guided by a rod 21 bears, on one side, on a shoulder of an intermediate piece 24 mounted pivotably on the striking body 20 and, on the other hand, on a stop piece 22 movable axially. In the cocked state, a threaded nut 32 screwed on the rod 21 is at a distance from the stop piece 22. At the moment of firing, the firing spring 25 draws the rod 21 through the stop piece 22 until the threaded nut 32 comes up against the latter. A suitable adjustment of this threaded nut 32 makes it possible to ensure that the striking surface 33 of the striking body 20 can hit the striker 4 fully, but that, because the threaded nut 32 is applied against the stop piece 22, the firing spring 25 can no longer be elongated and therefore no more energy is supplied to the striking body 20. <IMAGE>
