The device is made up of three platform wagons (1, 2, 3) and of a plane deck-beam (4) intended to support the panel (27) lying flat on it. The deck-beam (4) is laid onto the platforms of the wagons in a position parallel to these platforms. It is mounted so as to move transversely and in its plane on these platforms by rotation and/or translation by means of two motor/worm-drive units (9, 10) and rests on these platforms via four equidistant mobile supports (5, 6, 7 and 8). It is held in the longitudinal direction by a vertical pivot (13) mounted so as to slide in a transverse slideway of a support (7). This device is designed to enable out-of-gauge obstacles in bends to be avoided in a simple manner and to be used as site for fitting a track gear panel. <IMAGE>
