PURPOSE:To enable the titled material to have excellent resistance to chemicals and oils, to be free of fogging, decoloration or the like and to be free of blocking even when water is adhered thereto, by providing a protective layer comprising a styrene-acrylic acid copolymer latex as a main constituent on a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A protective layer comprising a styrene-acrylic acid copolymer latex is provided on a thermal color forming layer. The latex preferably comprises fine particles of the copolymer dispersed uniformly in water, the particles being spherical and the diameter thereof being usually not more than 0.3mu. The copolymer is ordinarily degree thereof is preferably 500-5,000. The latex preferably has a minimum film-forming temperature (MFT) of 0-60 deg.C. The coating weight is usually 0.5-5.0g/m<2>, preferably, 0.5-3.0g/m<2>. Various additives may be added to the protective film, as required. |
