PURPOSE:To cool frictional heat or the like to be generated in a ball screw shaft uniformly in a highly efficient manner as well as to maintain the extent of feed accuracy in a table or the like for a machine tool so high, by forming a hole in the inner part of the ball screw shaft, and having a heat pipe built in this hole. CONSTITUTION:A nut 2 is screwed in a ball screw shaft 1 via a ball 1a, and this nut 2 is clamped to a table or the like for a machine tool, and designed so as to be moved by rotation of the ball screw shaft 1. In this ball screw shaft 1, a hole 1b is piercedly installed inside along the axial direction, and a heat pipe 3 is inserted into this hole 1b, while both ends of this hole 1b are closed by a closure body 4. A fine 5 for radiation of heat is installed on an outer circumference of one end part of the ball screw shaft 1, surrounded by a hood 6, thus a cooling part 7 is formed there. In this connection, both ends of the ball screw shaft 1 is supported by a bearing 8.
