The subject-matter of the invention is a flexible joint, in particular for mounting links in motor vehicles, having a spherical gudgeon (3) and a flexible interlayer (4) which is connected positively to the latter, surrounds the joint ball and is held under prestress at the outside in an internally cylindrical joint housing (1), the ball (5) having recesses (6) into which complementary raised portions (7) on the inner circumferential surface (8) of the interlayer (4) engage. In order to stress the interlayer (4) uniformly between the ball (5) and the joint housing (1), the recesses (6) are approximately lens-shaped in a cross-section of the spherical gudgeon passing through the gudgeon axis (10), the recesses (6) are arranged on both sides of the equatorial plane (9) of the ball (5), which plane is perpendicular to the gudgeon axis (10), and the recesses (6) on the outer circumferential surface (15) of the ball (5) intersect approximately spherical triangles, the bases (16) of which are each aligned parallel to the equatorial plane (9) of the ball (5), which plane is perpendicular to the gudgeon axis (10). <IMAGE>
