Tyre consisting of a beadwire-free air tyre (4) containing a reinforcing ply (7) and a rim (3) the edges (8, 10) of which are connected to one another solely by glueing. The part of the tyre edge (8) containing the reinforcement ply is glued to the latter only on one side of the rim. The rim edge (10) has an undercut (28) whereat the tyre edge (8) comprises an annular reinforcement (29). A principal connection area (23, 27) is provided in the undercut or outside and adjacent to it. In the principal connection area, at no point (24) is the tangential angle to the axis (1) smaller than in each point which lies closer to the sidewall (6) of the tyre and than the angle (20) at which the tyre sidewall (6) runs clear of the rim in all normal loading conditions. Furthermore a process is proposed for producing such a tyre unit. |
