District-heating pipe designed as a particular type of the steel-jacket composite pipe, in conventional pipe lengths (6-12m) for underground, above-ground or semi-underground pipeline construction. The design predominantly comprises commercially available steel pipes or semifinished products. Instead of a commercially available axial compensator with high-grade steel bellows, a very short section of the inner pipe is formed in the form of bellows. The pipe element does not change its length even at different operating temperatures, but it is virtually completely stress-free at the design operating temperature. The pipe elements are not connected to one another directly, but essentially via a connecting element. The connecting element serves, at the same time, as a branch-off for the connection of a domestic service line and also as a shaped piece for direction changes in the district-heating line. Furthermore, it absorbs residual heat expansions. The insulation is accommodated between inner pipe and outer pipe. The heat insulation may be of any configuration. The district-heating pipe is intended mainly for high medium temperatures.
