An upholstered chair with adjustable supporting cushion is described, wherein a supporting cushion for adjusting the back or back cushion is arranged in an intermediate space of the back. The drive for the supporting cushion is provided by a gas pressure spring, and also a toggle lever and adjusting lever which together control the adjustment of the supporting cushion.
