The known clamping mechanisms for earring clips, etc., consisting of a clamping surface with a bearing block and a clamping piece which can be inserted into the bearing block, have the disadvantage that they are relatively difficult to assemble. In order to be able to carry out this assembly in appropriate automatic machines and thus to be able to produce the clamping mechanism inexpensively, it is proposed according to the invention to produce the bearing block from a resilient elastic plastic and to slot the axial bores of the bearing block towards the outside in order to be able to insert the clamping pieces automatically. <IMAGE>
