PURPOSE:To prevent torque shocks due to unnecessary changeover of control by arranging a means for detecting a difference in revolutions between a torque input and output sides and making torque transmission under a specific driving condition not inhibited. CONSTITUTION:Amount of torque transmission with a fluid type torque transmission means 1 is controlled based on the difference in revolutions nIN and nOUT respectively of input and output sides of torque. And when the difference in the revolutions DELTAn is not more than a specified value, torque transmission is inhibited by means of an inhibition means 7. Further, under a driving condition where frequent changeover between the torque transmission and torque transmission inhibition occur due to the revolution difference, the torque transmission is not inhibited. This makes it possible to avoid unnecessary changeover of control and to restrict generation of torque shocks and noise associated with the changeover of control.
