PURPOSE:To simplify the manufacturing process by molding an insulating cylindrical portion surrounding the outer peripheral portion of a coil end into an integral body with a synthetic resin insulating layer covering the inner face and both end faces of a slot of a stator core. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin thin insulating layer 3 is molded by insert molding into an integral body with the inner face and both end faces 1a, 1a of a slot 2 of a stator core 1. And an insulating cylindrical portion 4 integrally molded simultaneously with the insulating layer 3 is formed into a cylinder-like body integrally connected with the insulating layer 3 in the vicinity of the outer periphery of the end face 1a of the stator core 1. Then, a stator coil 5 is inserted into the slot 2. In this manner, the manufacturing process can be simplified and coils can be prevented from being damaged or cracked.
