PURPOSE:To permit winding a band material smoothly by engaging a pin with notches of the band material being guided tangentially and by rotating the pin together with a driving wheel. CONSTITUTION:A band material 1 is supplied to a cylindrical casing 2 tangentially thereof, bent spirally in the casing 2 and wound successively around a mandrel 3 to form a stator core 4. A pin engages with notches 8 of the band material 1 being guided tangentially and by rotation of this pin together with the driving wheel, the band material 1 is bent by force, deformed plastically and wound up. In this case, the band material 1 is forced to be fed by a feed mechanism 29.
