PURPOSE:To prevent the misinput by switching the input function of an input key with a changeover switch and securing the mechanical coupling state between the display of the input function and the switching action of the changeover switch. CONSTITUTION:A key input device of an electronic calculator contains a keyboard part 1, a display device 2 and a solar battery 3. The part 1 includes a group of numerical input keys K1 arrayed in a matrix form, a long key K2 covering the entire width of the matrix of the keys K1, and a large key K3. Here both keys K2 and K3 are provided with two input functions for an arithmetic execution command and the designation of addition as the input function having especially high in using frequency. Then a changeover switch 4 for both input functions is set on the surface of the calculator. Thus both input functions can be exchanged and switched with each other. Furthermore the symbol displays (=, +) of input functions of both keys K2 and K3 are exchanged with each other in response to the switching actions of the switch 4. Thus it is possible to discriminate instantaneously the input function selected then.
