摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer recording material enabled in that ink fine particles consisting of a coloring material and a low m.p. org. substance are rapidly melted to issue to a surface through the voids of a porous layer, easy to control gradation and having good sensitivity, by forming the porous layer on a base material from org. polymer fine particle and fine particles consisting of org. polymer fine particles, at least the coloring material and the low m.p. org. substance. CONSTITUTION:A part of org. polymer fine particles is constituted of fine particles different in m.p. consisting of at least a coloring material and a plurality of low m.p. org. substances having different melting points in a range of 50-90 deg.C. In order to form a smooth film on a sheet like base material, the org. polymer fine particles desirably have an average particle size of 0.5mum or less, further pref., 0.1mum or less. In order to form a good porous layer, it is desirable to set the average particle size of the org. polymer fine particles to 1/10 or less the average particle size of the fine particles consisting of at least the coloring material and the low m.p. Therefore, the desirable average particle size of the fine particles consisting of at lest the coloring material and the low m.p. org. substance is 1-10mum.
