PURPOSE:To position an inspection probe precisely at a material to be inspected while attaining quick-response by forming a probe holder by the mixed composite material of carbon fiber and aramid fiber. CONSTITUTION:A probe holder 13 is shaped by the mixed composite material of carbon fiber and aramid fiber, and has a high specific modulus and high damping capacity. Carbon fiber gives the high specific modulus, and aramid fiber give high damping capacity. A board consisting of the mixed composite material having sandwich structure in which a plain-weave cloth carbon-fiber prepregs is used as a core section and the alternate laminated layer of thirty-six unidirectional carbon-fiber prepregs and aramid fiber prepregs (plain-weave cloths) is employed as a skin section is molded, and the probe holder 13 is constituted of the board. According to the vibration damping curve of the holder, initial amplitude takes 0.48mm and the damping time takes 0.4s, and both are reduced to approximately half conventional aluminum alloys.
