PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a road state measuring apparatus by emitting one of two gas laser beams through an optical fiber cable as a road state measuring light source. CONSTITUTION:The road state is measured by laser beams 10, 10' emitted from the left and right sides of a gas laser 12 of laser beam generating means. In other words, the beam 10 emitted from the left side of the laser 12 is reflected on a mirror 13, enlarged by a scanner 14 to irradiate a road surface 15. The reflected light from the road surface 15 is photodetected by photomultipliers 16, 17 and picked up by pickup units. The beam 10' emitted from the right side of the laser 12 is branched by a half mirror 18 in two directions, and the branched beams 10' are irradiated through optical fiber cables 19, 20 on the surface 15 by focusing the beams 10' of the exists of the cable by lenses 21, 22. The light reflected on the surface 15 is detected and measured by sensors 23, 24 to measure the uneven amount of the vertical section. |
