PURPOSE:To ensure that the rebound of a plunger on returning can be securely restrained and a stable operation can be performed by providing a magnetic circuit constituted of a rebound-restraining coil. CONSTITUTION:In a casing 1 are disposed a driving coil 3 for a plunger 2, a magnetic plate 4 constituting the magnetic circuit of the coil 3, a spring 5 for assisting the plunger 2 in its returning,a coil 6 excited for restraining the rebound of the plunger 2 on returning, a magnetic plate 7 constituting the magnetic circuit of the coil 6, a damper 8 for absorbing the rebound of the plunger 2, and bushes 9, 10 serving as guides in a width direction of the plunger 2. With the coil 3 excited for causing the plunger 2 to fly, the plunger 2 flies in conformity with a curve a-b. After printing at a point (b), the plunger 2 is returned in conformity with a curve b-c by a repulsive force generated on collision with a platen and the force of the spring 5. At the timing of the returning, the coil 6 is excited, whereby the rebound of the plunger 2 is restrained, and the plunger 2 performs a restrained movement conforming to a curve c-d to become ready for the next flight.
