PURPOSE:To prevent the missing of a part of character by increase in printing pressure for a hard paper and at the same time, prevent the wrinkle of a ribbon by decrease in pressure of a head for an ordinary paper, by selecting the rotary angle of a head retraction motor according to the kind of a printing paper. CONSTITUTION:A printing head is, in an advance and retreat movable manner, supported by the eccentric cam 14 pivotally supported by a head retraction motor 3 via a crank bar 12 and the printing head 4 is always energized on a platen 7 side with a head pressure spring 13. A stepping motor is used for the head retraction motor 3 and the notch part 14a of the eccentric cam 14 is detented by a stopper 15 in the initial time of printing, the rotation of the cam 14 is disturbed with the stopper 15 and a space is generated between the platen 7 and the printing head 4. A printing head 9 and an ink film 8 are set in this state. By selecting an ordinary paper or post card with a printing paper selection switching lever, the stop position of the stepping motor 3 is changed to switch the pressure of the head. |
