PURPOSE:To improve ease of use of a sun visor retractable in a ceiling recess by constituting such that a downward torque is exerted on the sun visor in a retracted condition by arranging an engage-stop projection in the ceiling recess and an engage-stop device which performs locking and unlocking actions by turns on the sun visor side. CONSTITUTION:A spring 19 is built in a holder 18 of a shaft 12 supporting a sun visor 11 freely rotatably so that an energizing force is produced to force the sun visor 10, when it is brought to a retracted condition, always in the direction of the arrow in the figure. And if the sun visor is turned in the direction opposite to the arrow, an engage-stop projection 20 and an engage-stop device 21 engage with each other so that the sun visor 11 is retracted and held in a recess 15. And when the sun visor 11 is slightly pressed against the ceiling direction, a heat cam groove 32 is actuated to release an engagement piece 28 and to turn the sun visor 11 in the direction of the arrow by means of a force of the spring 19. With this constitution, ease of use of the sun visor is improved.
