NEW PARTICULATE COMPOSITIONS OF RARE EARTH OXIDE, PREPARATION AND APPLICATION THEREOF

Particulate compositions of rare earth oxide, characterized in that the particles are configured like monocrystals of homogeneous size and morphology of which the dimensions are smaller than or equal to 10 mu m and bigger than 0.05 mu m, and in that at least 80% of the particles have dimensions which vary in the interval x +/-0.2 x, x being the average dimension of the particles of the composition in question, it being understood that the variation interval +/-0.2 x is not smaller than +/-0.1 mu m; their preparation and their application particularly to the making of ceramics, abrasives, catalysts or catalytic supports.
