PURPOSE:To accurately judge color discrimination by performing color discriminating processing when an object having a color to be measured moves, by detecting the peak values of a plurality of color component signals from a color sensor to hold the same and processing a plurality of the peak values held to output color discrimination signals. CONSTITUTION:A light source integrated type color sensor 10 is used in a color discrimination apparatus and the light from a light source 15 is allowed to irradiate an object Oj fed on a line and the color signal components of the object Oj on the basis of reflected lights passing through filters are detected by light receiving elements 11-13. The peak values of these detected signal components are head to peak holding circuit 21-24 by the signal of a timing signal generating circuit 46. The outputs of the circuits 21-24 are compared by comparing circuits 31-36 to be applied to a color discriminating circuit 39. A plurality of signals outputted from the circuits 31-36 are processed on the basis of preliminarily assembled logic by the circuit 39 and color signals A-C are judged to be outputted. Then, color discrimination when the matter Oj moves is performed to be displayed by display lamps 51-55 through FF41-44.
