PURPOSE:An insulating coating compound for magnetic wire, providing an insulating film of coating having improved wear resistance and abrasion resistance free from damage of adhesivity between films of coating even by lap coating, obtained by adding a specific fluorine-containing discarboxylic acid (derivative) to a coating compound composition. CONSTITUTION:A coating compound composition is blended with preferably 3-50mol% based on total carboxylic acid in the coating compound of a fluorine- containing dicarboxylic acid shown by formula I (x, y and z are integer; y+z=2x-1) or its derivative (e.g., compounds shown by formula II-IV, etc.,) to give the aimed coating compound.
