PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and sharpness by incorporating the oil globule dispersion type first coupler and a Fischer dispersion type second coupler in at least one layer of a silver halide photographic sensitive material, and further, flat silver halide grains. CONSTITUTION:At least one layer of a silver halide photosensitive material composed of at least one silver halide emulsion layer and at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer contains a combination of the oil globule dispersion type first coupler and a Fischer dispersion type second coupler. As the oil globule dispersion type first coupler, a yellow dye forming coupler, a cyan dye forming coupler, a magenta dye forming coupler, and the like are used. As the flat silver halide grains, the ones each having an aspect ratio of 5:1 or higher, and a silver iodide content in the central part higher than that in the circumferential part is contained in an emulsion layer, thus permitting sensitivity to be enhanced, and graininess and sharpness to be improved. |
