PURPOSE:To obtain a heating apparatus which can change heating capacity in accordance with the change in room temperature, by providing a heating unit which has higher and lower heating capacities, by detecting a room temperature, by selecting a heater of higher heating capacity when a room temperature is lower than a predetermined room temperature, and by switching the heater to that of lower heating capacity when a room temperature is higher than the predetermined room temperature. CONSTITUTION:When a power source switch SW is turned on, the contact point of a relay Ry1 is opened or closed in accordance with the rise of temperature which is transmitted by the voltage produced between sensor electrodes S1 and S2, being rectified and being smoothed by a checking circuit 4. Current to be fed to a heater H1 or H2 is controlled and it works to keep a heater unit 2 at a predetermined temperature. A room-temperature setting temperature is compared with the actual room temperature by a room-temperature decision circuit 6. A signal is not output when a room temperature is lower than the room-temperature setting temperature. A transistor Q2 is turned OFF and a relay Ry2 is not actuated, and higher heating capacity H1 is selected for the heater. When a room temperature is high, a high level signal is output from a room-temperature decision circuit 6, and lower heating capacity H2 is selected for the heater.
