PURPOSE:The titled molded article, obtained by forming a layer containing a compound having functional groups, e.g. epoxy groups, etc., on the surface of a molded article of a wholly aromatic polyamide and having improved adhesive property to a matrix resin and adhesive. CONSTITUTION:Amide groups in the surface layer having <=2mum thickness of a molded article of a wholly aromatic polyamide consisting of repeating units expressed by formulas I and/or II (Ar1-Ar3 are bifunctional aromatic cyclic group) are converted into an alkyl metal using a dimsyl alkali metal and a compound having one or more functional groups in the group consisting of epoxy group, blocked isocyanate group, amino group, etc., e.g. monoepoxy compound, unsaturated polyester precursor, diallyl phthalate, etc., is impregnated into the surface layer of the molded article in a solvent, e.g. dimethyl sulfoxide, etc., capable of swelling the above-mentioned wholly aromatic polyamide converted into the alkyl metal. |
