PURPOSE:To simplify the construction and to prevent the fluctuation of a sheet thickness and the formation of wave patterns by forming the inside surface shape in the final rolling part of a stationary late to an arc concentrical with the rotating circumcircle of a work roll and making the space between the arc and the circumcircle equal to a desired sheet thickness. CONSTITUTION:The inside surface 41 of the stationary disk 4 in contact with a rolling material 5 is divided to 4 sections. Rolling is not executed in the section A-B where the rolls function as a guide for the material 5. The thickness of the material 5 decreases considerably and the shape of the inside surface 41 of the stationary disk in the section B-C decreases in the sheet thickness as the material progresses. The section C-D is the arc of a radius R2 concentrical with the rotating circumcircle 23 of the work roll 2 and R2-R1 is made to coincide with the desired sheet thickness so that the length of the arc C-D is made larger than the length of the material 5 on the outlet side. The space between the circumcircle 23 and the inside surface 41 of the plate 4 is constant in the section C-D and therefore, the thickness is adjusted to the specified thickness by light draft rolling in the rolling in the section B-C. The rolls in the final section D-E act as a mere guide for the material 5. |
