PURPOSE:To improve stability in operation, by forming insulation rings at a collector part of a microwave tube by using a single crystal member having a definite direction of thermals conduction. CONSTITUTION:A beam rectilinear traveling type microwave tube is composed of an electron gun part, a collector part 2, a collector part 3, which is jointed with a collector supporting plate 4 through the first and second insulation rings 13 and 14 and the like. These rings 13 and 14 are formed of single-crystal materials whose directions of thermal conduction are respectively vertical and horizontal to the tube axial directions. Anisotropy of these thermal conducting directions serves as effective cooling of heat generated at the collector part 3. Therefore, with uniformization of a temperature across the collector electrodes 5 and 6 being avoided, heat generated at the collector part 3 can be prevented from having an effect on the high frequency action part 2. Resultantly, operational instability by thermal expansion is suppressed, enhancing operational stability.
