PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristic by giving a taper near the end of a magnetic recording medium sliding face side of a magnetic shield plate and providing a spacer closely regulating the distance between the magnetic core and the magnetic shield plate to the tapered part. CONSTITUTION:A taper is given to the end part 2a of the sliding face of the magnetic shield plate 2 and spacers 3, 3' are provided closely to both sides of the tapered part. The spacers 3, 3' regulate the distance between the magnetic cores 1, 1' and the magnetic shield plate 2 and made of a nonmagnetic material to shut the magnetic coupling between the magnetic cores 1, 1' and the magnetic shield plate 2. A coil is wound respectively on the magnetic cores 1, 1', arranged to the lower and upper side of the tapered in parallel with a slope and the end of the sliding face is adhered closely to the spacers 3, 3'. In this case, the magnetic cores 1, 1', the magnetic shield plate 2 and the spacers 3, 3' are assembled to the core holder, fitted in the shield case and fixed by filling a resin.
