<p>A recorded data reproducing apparatus according to the invention includes a memory section (4) having a gain data table (28) for storing gain data determined in accordance with a cylinder position above a recording medium. Using the data representing the current cylinder position, the optimum gain data is determined from the gain data table (28), and supplied to a read pulse generator section (2) under control by a control section (4).
