PURPOSE:To prevent the gas leakage, by making an outer diameter of a washer of self holding type solenoid for a solenoid valve for use with a gas instrument or the like slightly greater than an inner diameter of a washer inserting portion of a valve rubber, and thereby eliminating a gap between a valve rubber receiver and the valve rubber. CONSTITUTION:An outer diameter phid of a water 9 is greater than an inner diameter phiD of a washer inserting portion 8a of a valve rubber 8 by about 0.3-1mm. Accordingly, the washer 9 is forcibly inserted into the washer inserting portion 8a of the valve 8 in such a manner as to expand the latter. As a result, an outer peripheral portion of the valve rubber 8 is bent in the direction of an arrow, and is urged against a valve rubber receiver 7 to closely contact same regardless of whether or not a dimension A of a recess 7a of the valve rubber receiver 7 is equal to a dimension B of a projection 8b of the valve rubber 8 to be engaged with the recess 7a. Accordingly, the valve rubber may be always maintained in close contact with the valve rubber receiver regardless of a dispersion in dimension of the parts, thus eliminating the occurrence of gas leakage or the like.
