PURPOSE:To obtain a crystalline iron silicate with improved selectivity in alkylation or disproportionation reaction, by reacting respective supply substances of silica, alumina and iron with sodium, water and a specific octane derivative. CONSTITUTION:A composition containing a silica supply substance, alumina supply substance, iron supply substance, sodium supply substance, water and 1,8-diamino-4-aminomethyloctane at molar ratios of each components within the following ranges is heated at 100-250 deg.C to afford the aimed silicate. The above-mentioned molar ratios are 0.05-0.5 Na/SiO2, 5-100 H2O/SiO2, 0.1-5 1,8-diamino-4-aminomethyloctane/SiO2, 0-0.05 Al2O3/SiO2 and 0.001-0.05 Fe2O3/ SiO2. Silica sol is particularly preferred for the silica supply substance to be used and sodium hydroxide is particularly preferred for the sodium supply substance. |
