CONTROLLER FOR POWER CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a power converter by correcting the phase value for calculating a pulse pattern by synchronization while asynchronously synchronizing a pulse pattern generation to eliminate a complicated minimum pulse width obtaining circuit. CONSTITUTION:A DC power is obtained from an AC power source 1 by PWM- controlling the main switching element 2 of a converter to be supplied to a load 4. A pattern generator 10 generates a PWM-control pulse made of a predetermined pulse pattern substantially at every predetermined constant period, and a synchronizer 9 corrects data in the generator 10 in response to a synchronization signal obtained from the power source 1. The generation of a PWM- control pulse in the generator 10 is asynchronously performed with the power source 1.
