PURPOSE:To readily brake a rotor by replacing partial permanent magnets of a permanent motion engine utilizing the repelling force of permanent magnets with electromagnets. CONSTITUTION:Rotors 4a, 4b are coupled by gears 6a, 6b, and permanent magnets 8a, 8b are disposed circumferentially at an equal interval on the peripheries of the rotors. One of them is replaced by an electromagnet 9a. The permanent magnets are so composed that the polarities repel from each other when the magnets 8a, 8b approach and that the magnets 8a, 9a of the rotor 4a side rotate to slightly precede from the magnets 8b, 9b of the rotor 4b side, thereby performing a permanent motion. When the permanent motion is continued, the electromagnets 9a, 9b are so energized as to repel when both approach. When braking, the electromagnets 9a, 9b are so excited as to attract when both approach.
