PURPOSE:To easily dehydrate sludge till about <=65wt% water content so that handling of sludge is made easy by dehydrating sludge in a pond wherein the inside wall and the bottom surface are covered with a filter medium contg. slaked lime and basic calcium carbonate. CONSTITUTION:The inside wall and the bottom part of a pond wherein water is not penetrated into the ground and draining function is provided to the bottom part and the wall part of the pond are previously covered with a filter medium contg. slaked lime and basic calcium carbonate. Slaked lime and basic calcium carbonate may be used as these are or mixed with mountain soil or sand. When the inside wall and the bottom part of the pond are previously covered with the filter medium such as mountain soil or sand and a bored pipe is buried, drain is effective. Water contained in sludge is smoothly transferred by introducing sludge into this pond and easily discharged through a provided drainage port.
