PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion of sealing part to retain sealing ability and cell performance over a long period of time by using ceramic woven fabric or nonwoven fabric, in which low melting point glass powder is supported, as a sealing member to be mounted between a manifold and the side of a fuel cell main body. CONSTITUTION:Manifolds 6a-6d each of which distributes and recovers reaction gas are fitted on the four sides of a fuel cell main body through square-shaped circular sealing members 5a-5d. Low melting point glass which softens at a temperature less than cell operation temperature and shows fluidity, is less corrosive, and does not mix with molten carbonate is used. By using this low melting point glass, corrosion of separator or manifold by molten carbonate is effectively prevented. B2O3-P2O5 family glass is used as the low melting glass. In order to support the low melting glass in ceramic woven or nonwoven fabric, glass powder is stirred with organic solvent to form slurry, and the slurry is vacuum-impregnated in the ceramic woven or nonwoven fabric, then the organic solvent is vaporized. |
