MANUFACTURE OF THIN ALUMINUM PLATE FOR VESSEL

PURPOSE:To manufacture a thin Al plate having superior drawability by subjecting a cold rolled thin Al plate to final recrystallization annealing and specified elongation. CONSTITUTION:An Al ingot is cast as usual, planed, homogenized, hot rolled and cold rolled to form a thin Al plate of a desired thickness. The plate is subjected to final recrystallization annealing at about 300-550 deg.C for <=about 1hr and to elongation at 0.5-4%. The resulting thin Al plate is hardly cracked during drawing and the bottom of a vessel made of the plate does not cause deformation such as swelling even when press necking is carried out.
